Our clinic terminated its contract with ATRIO Health Plans effective January 1, 2025.  We do not anticipate re-entering a contract with ATRIO Health Plans for the foreseeable future.
 

Important Update Regarding Medicare Coverage for 2027​

Regence Medicare Advantage is leaving Douglas County for 2027. Because this triggers a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for members, we want to ensure a seamless transition and prevent any disruptions to your medical care at our clinic. Note: Bledsoe Trust, Teamsters, and other union-sponsored plans will remain in effect. However, we highly recommend calling Regence to verify your specific 2027 coverage.

Our clinic is out-of-network with the only remaining Advantage Plans in 2027: WellCare and ATRIO. WellCare only offers a dual-eligible (Medicare/Medicaid) plan and an HMO plan (WellCare Part D is a stand-alone prescription drug plan (PDP). It is not a Medicare Advantage plan and is not included in this coverage guidance). Both strictly require the use of in-network providers. ATRIO: We terminated our contract with ATRIO in 2025. We do not provide routine or non-emergent care, bill claims, handle referrals, or manage prior authorizations for ATRIO. Additionally, we cannot accept ATRIO patients on a cash-pay basis: Dr. Jaworski accepts Medicare assignment, meaning he is a participating provider. Under Section 1848(g)(4) of the Social Security Act and federal regulations, if a physician accepts Medicare assignment, they cannot bypass the insurance system and collect cash from a Medicare beneficiary, including a Medicare Advantage enrollee, for services that are normally covered by Medicare.

We strongly encourage all affected patients to enroll in Original Medicare to maintain uninterrupted care at our clinic.

Depending on your situation, here are your best options to transition smoothly:

​

• If you only have Medicare (Non-dual eligible): We recommend moving to Original Medicare and adding a Medigap (Medicare Supplement) policy. Because your current plan is leaving, you can add this supplement penalty-free regardless of pre-existing conditions.

• If you have Medicare and Medicaid (Dual-eligible): We recommend moving to Original Medicare and enrolling in a standalone Part D prescription drug plan.

Tips for Choosing Your 2027 Insurance Plan​

Choosing a health plan is a big decision. Before you sign up, check these two things:

• Confirm your doctor is in-network: Call your clinic and your doctors directly to ask if they accept the specific plan in 2027. Do not rely on online insurance directories, as they are often out of date.

• Look into the company's track record: Verify the financial and legal stability of the insurance company to guarantee reliable, long-term coverage and support.​
